Being able to negotiate is an important option, and it's good to feel as confident as you can doing it. At my first job I just accepted the offer as I honestly didn't think I could negotiate, and I was happy to just get in the door. Since then I've always done some negotiating, with varied success. In some circumstances it might be best to skip it. There's no point in rocking the boat if you're already happy with what's happening.

Yeah that is what I struggle with... I have offers that I am happy with then i feel ok and don't negotiate
Still kind of uncomfortable, but it depends a lot on the job and what I’m there for. I’ve left some places and would have been happy with anything they wanted to give me. Others, I was there solely for the money. That’s when you need to negotiate harder. Has anyone changed their strategy based on that?

Always try so you can get better later. You will have more leverage as time goes on. The worst is they will say no.
