I just wanted to let you know that someone out in the void is thinking of you and wishing great news on your job search
I should also mention message me and we can stay connected on linked in
I feel you. Laid off today. Need help
You’re at FTI? What group?
OP: I was laid off in Oct last year. Same level as you. I didn’t get any interview until end of Jan this year and I never understood why. I finally got employed again end of March right when the shelter-in orders came out and the possibility of economic downturn hit. And now I’m hearing the possibilities of lay off over here again because clients put an indefinite hold the projects. Things are so volatile right now. It’s nothing to do with your capability. Sometimes the time is just not in our favour. But again, this is just temporary.
Sending positive vibes your way as well! It’ll be alright. I’m sure we can look back at this time some day and say this made us stronger and better. May be good things are on their way... 😊
Being it let go at SM level is hard. The current conditions are not in your favor so dont feel guilty about not making it to the finish line. Stay in touch with those companies, they values you and may reach out when they have a need
Thanks for the reminder D2
I got laid off more than a month ago, and I agree it sucks. Stay strong Op and keep your head up
Your time will come. The universe will conspire and get you your due. Till then, wish you peace and perseverance. Stay at it- things will turn out all right.
Yes 😢
Yeah I'm going to try to hit up everyone in my network across the firms.
I heard unemployment checks are like ~1k per week tax free (at least in chicago). Is this true OP?
I was able to file the last week of March - However, the state processing unemployment has been very behind. I got a note last week that my application was under review, but it is unclear when I’ll start to receive benefits
Don’t stress, it’s a time where a gap in your res / being laid off won’t be judged as much. They always say finding the right job takes 3-12 months, so you have time!
OP, YOE? Skillset? Location you're seeking a role in?
With CARES Act, I’m guessing a lot of Fed shops are looking for HC support.
Deloitte, KPMG, etc.
