I'm looking to find a job like the Forward Deployed Engineer role Palantir Technologies in the UK.
I have become hooked on finding a job that involves solving the kinds of problems they presented during their interviews. Although I got to the final round my performance anxiety got the better of me (I think I wanted the job a bit too much...). I will reapply after working in a similar company.
Is it "deep tech" / "data science" or "smart enterprise" that they're doing? Any advice welcome.
Hello All, I have been selected in the interview at NTT DATA and also submitted documents as requested by Recruiting HR. However , it's been a 10 days after docs submission but haven't received any call from HR for salary negotiation. On email follow up with HR, he said he is on it and will come back to me soon for further process. Any views.NTT DATA

Client side to be safe if you end up not liking it you can always apply agency once things have had enough time to normalize and positions start opening back up. In the meantime you at least have a secure job.
This. 100%
I never trust companies who do “goal to hire”.
Client side, recession proof. The work is a little more boring but right now take the security, get equity and bulk up your 401k

Well if they asked you to consider it, say you did. Then say I have another offer that’s offering me a regular gig, no contract to hire thing. Tell them you can’t do the uncertainty right now. You just got laid off and no one knows what’s gonna happen. You both have leverage but you have a better offer too.
I was about to write this exact thing. If they really want you, and know you have a concrete job offer with the other co, then they’ll figure out a way to bring you on as a full time employee.
This is such a personal decision. My two cents is to really think about what weighs more for you. Obviously job security is something all of us are longing for, but there’s nothing worse than having a secure job you don’t love. I made that decision a while and left in less than 3 months. If you really love the creativity of what we do it’s really hard to be somewhere where that’s not the case. You can get by and adapt, but it’s just not the same.
Either way I’m happy you have those two opportunities to consider!!! It’s been rough for the past few months and it’s nice to see people having new doors open for them!
Best of luck OP!
Client side
Depends a bit on what you need in life. Can you afford to lose your job in 60 days? Do you need health insurance?
I could probably be ok without a job for up to 4 months. I’m on my husbands health insurance.
Go client-side because it’s typically more money and a MUCH better work / life balance. You’d be incorrect in thinking it’s recession-proof. Especially if you’re in marketing since it’s always the first to go—even though all the evidence proves that marketing efforts should be doubled during a downturn.
Ditto. Best advice.
In this era, go client-side for the benefits and salary, and go for the full-time job. That will only make you more valuable to an advertising agency after a year where do you want to be
Been client side for two years. Don’t regret it one bit. Better pay, benefits and work life balance. Plus when you say crazy stuff people think you’re the resident rebel genius.
Yeah - congrats, you are in demand and that’s huge. Question is where you are in your career/what will make you happiest and most productive at this career stage/what sets the best foundation for your future? If you’re in a role that revolves around the creative product, plain and simple, it’s one thing; if it’s about creative problem solving, you can usually find those difference-making opportunities in even conservative environments. Personally, I’ve always inclined to creative risk-taking, because, for me, a good day is good work going out the door. Your actual mileage may vary.
I’ll second that. I recently changed jobs and the more corporate environment, less creative work has made life hell. I recognize though it’s not the same everywhere so that’s why I say take the pay and benefits and give it a shot if it dies t seem too bad.
Client side. Go for stability in a recession.
Let us know which one you pick when you do!
I will, I’m having lots of conversations happening this week and next week with both companies. If I get two concrete job offers I will share my learnings with this group in hopes that someone else might find it helpful.
Agency! Client-side is where creatives go to die.
You've got to eventually go somewhere to die. It's tough to accept but that's this business. There are no retirement parties at ad agencies for 99% of us...
Client side. Pay, benefits, power dynamic is worth it. There are still shitty days but the rest makes up for it
Client side! Don’t believe them about temp to hire.
Really appreciate the input from this group. Being flexible with roles has really helped with my job search. Thanks for the feedback and good luck everyone!
Flexible roles= ECD >SR Writer or GAD >Jr Acct Manager
Congrats op! ✨
Thank you, not a done deal yet but final conversations this week.
Go for security right now. That’s been my approach at least. I shifted my workload to prioritize the big revenue less creative accounts I work on. There will be new creative opportunities when things improve.
