Anyone worried about layoffs?
So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?
Any word on layoffs at JPM?

Contract is over?
Still fine to say this IMO. Contract ended.
Did it end because term was up? No. But it still ended.
Just say your contract term ended. No need for details and you can spin it to say you’re now looking for full time work and whatever other reasons you have for wanting to work there
Wanted to move away from contracting to full time
Wanted to challenge yourself in a way that the previous contract would not provide
Same response as if you were still working there. “Looking to expand my personal and professional growth in role that has ample opportunity”
Nobody needs to know why and you don’t need to explain every situation in detail.
Pro
Similar thing happened to me cuz of the cpu chip shortage when i was at an assembly plant for cars.
If someone really presses me to know why I’m no longer at this company I use that as the “cover” before I start talking about the relationship I had with my boss.
Not sure if this is the best strategy or not
The under utilization is part of my story as well. Lots of bench time telling you that you’ll get contacted soon on your next engagement.
