I was let go recently from a top 10 firm because I "didn't show initiative and didn't ask enough questions". I was honestly shocked because I didn't receive quality feedback until my midyear evaluation. They put me on an improvement plan, but I definitely feel that they had their minds made up and it was more of a procedural thing. Anyone else experience something similar? I made improvements and locked in on my work, but when I had check in meetings they were always nitpicking.
