If you are a female educator in a public school in Texas, I have a research opportunity for you. I am a Doctoral Candidate at Baylor and doing a study on the experiences women working in the field of education have had that triggered shame and exploring their resilience to those experiences. After 20 years at EY I can say that there is less room for individual negotiation generally speaking unless you are asked to do something. The monetary value of the career is that the salary will double every five years in real values. Maybe 6. Untill you pass 500 K.
I moved to NYC in EY as a staff 2 in audit and got 66k. I later found out that >$68,720 is considered “low income” by the city of New York (seriously, look it up).
And then I found another job doing the same thing for a 45% bump.
Its a joke buddy. Chill
Tell them you want more money
I came in as a staff 2 in my firm. Washington DC area for $67K. I’d say negotiate. Worst they can say is no.
As a senior 1 in NYC, I can verify that’s the salary for a staff 2... it’s sucks
I started at 59, 5 years ago. That seems very low
???? That doesn’t give reason to think it’s low when offers go up 1k per year
Not true, I came in as experienced associate and I negotiated my salary to stand at $72K. You can negotiate
It’s all fine and dandy to negotiate for more, but at the end of the day, the firm is going lower your raises going forward to push you into the salary band for that respective region
Audit NYC $60k first year
