What are pre-MBA pay bands at MBB?
Hi fishes! I had asked for benefits other than CTC which Bank of America provides & now that I've completed 1 month here, here's the list of allowances you'll be getting irrespective of position/band:
1. Sodexo: 1300 p.m./ 15,600 p.a.
2. Transport allowance: 900 one way, 1800 two ways p.m./ 21,600 p.a.
3. Internet: 1500 max p.m. (other than that, one time installation charges)
4. Tuition fee: Any certification related to your field. Like CFA, FRM etc. 3,00,000 p.a.

Every single morning
My buddy I've known since childhood works at a bmw dealership and took home 220k last year. He's only 4 years in. I'm honestly considering leaving this gig and trying my hand at that
"Yeah but once you make director the pay gap is bigger"
I'd rather not spend 70 hours a week on slack and client calls. I also like my hairline. The perceived prestige in title isn't worth it to me anymore
Very true. I actually live with him now but he just bought a house so he's moving out.
He works Saturdays but takes Tuesdays off
What is their job
Plenty of people make the same salary straight out of undergrad or mba. Someone in industry vs a director in consulting though are probably going to have a significant salary gap.
This is the best answer, plenty of people start out with a similar salary, but the frequent promotion cycles and career growth opportunities are unmatched, that’s the trade off you suffer for
If pay-to-stress ratio is your #1 concern, why not :)
Some other things that are keeping me here are opportunities to expand network, grow skillset in an area I like, and also figure out what the hell I like lol
Cry
My goal is to make the most amount of money having the most amount of fun - so if you’re asking me - go for it!
Yeah I face the same struggle. Consulting is desirable because of pay later on from what everyone sells us on but how many people actually make it to MD or partner
That’s why I chose GT. I make the exact same as my Big 4 counterparts, doing the same type of work but for significantly less hours and stress.
I remember I had an internship offer from GT and EY and GT was a lot lower, but I guess it doesn’t translate. Good to know !
Wait I literally had the same convo with a friend. I am debating. I love what I do thought so not sure if I would switch but there are days I wish I could have more relaxing days.
I just jumped ship - I moved to sales engineering and cannot believe how much more free time I have compared to my consulting role.
And I make a significant amount more. Win win.
