Im based in HTX so I can’t relate to your experience. But I do wish you came to Blacks in Technology in Houston. I think it would be a different story. Also, are you in Black women tech groups? Try those.
I need to find some, thank you sis 🙏🏾
I’ve seen both sides of it, and can be so different based on where I am and who I’m working for. Some women have been incredible and so supportive and others I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. I really try myself to be supportive anyone I can and unfortunately not everyone does that.
Black executives have to be very selective about the people that they choose to support

As I said, in my other comment to you - good luck
I'll be honest. Black women have been my worst co-workers and bosses. On my last job, I received the cold shoulder, and then I was accused of bullying (which was untrue) by another. These were two black partners I tried to network with. I have enough experience to know that not all people are the same, but I have simply found that most black female leaders at that level don't know how to engage with black women. Not even how to network and lift each other up in a genuine way. We have so much trauma. The sad thing is that I network best with African and Caribbean black leaders and peers or black males. If you want people to know you, I urge you to reach out and offer yourself to be networked with. I've seen popular leaders tell everyone to please set up a coffee chat, etc, because they want to get to know others. They extend the invitation and often. Please don't assume everyone knows it's okay to reach out to you. Best of luck, and I appreciate your desire to break the barriers.
Again AP. Please pause and reread my posts. None of them were written to insult fight nor "clap back". Therapy is a good thing for everyone. My therapy is prayer and regular introspection of how I am living, my own flaws, and needed correction. And I am thankful for correction. Everything was written with good intention and genuine care. I will not be moved. Good luck to you.
