We share talent all the time. My salary and hourly team members are often taken as I produce high quality leaders. Take a deep breath and focus on the new member that will now be coming to your team. You’ll be okay.
That’s where I’m at right now, trying to decide if this is the right place for me anymore. There’s even more that I didn’t go into that’s causing me to think this way. I think deep down I know what the answer is but I’ve been there 15 years and I’m having a really tough time facing the hard truth. 😕
They should be posting all open roles as a matter of fairness, but it doesn't sound like that's even what you're mad about. Leaders "poaching" employees from internal teams to fill other roles they think they'd be a good/better fit for is quite normal, as is CEOs overuling opinions of subordinates.
It really feels like "I just finished training them" frustration is the primary issue here and I'm sure that came through when you made your case to the CEOs too. You can't help voicing this idea that something has been wrongly taken from you personally, even when you start trying to come at it from another angle.
