Well, big picture, it does matter for the firm’s sake (unless you guys do a lot of flat fee stuff). My advice would be to ramp up capturing all of your time and see if you get any pushback/notice write-offs. You might be pleasantly surprised!

The thing is I get pushback and clearly legal tasks. I’ll bill e.g. 2.5 hours for working on an estoppel certificate and partner will come to me and say we can’t be charging that much for this, I’m marking it down to 2. But I’ll try to capture more of the related tasks.

I left a boutique consulting company because I felt under utilized. Joined a larger supposedly hip consultancy with local market model with great expectations and am finding myself let down by the experience - the client, work, teamwork and collaboration, technical content is not per what was promised and feels like I am back to my b4 days. I was a fool to fall for the kumbaya in consulting crap - I am best developing products with great teams. Industry looks down on me. What are my options?

Hi Guys, I am a new member on this platform. I'm looking for a role change and wish to work in the consulting space (strategy/management/supply chain/business). I have 5 years of experience in the textile industry. I've had the opportunity to work on the manufacturing and sourcing side managing supply chain for international clients. I'm currently providing freelance consulting services on project basis. Any of your referrals to job openings at consulting firms would really help. Thanks

Not sure if y’all have been in a similar situation but I’m staffed on a project that is mindless busy work and I feel like I’m not progressing in my career. Makes me ponder where I went wrong in life sometimes: How did I do a top-tier MBA just to take a step back in my career? My job pre MBA was way more analytically challenging. Not sure if I’m being super negative or are some of these thoughts normal? Is it WFH syndrome? Thoughts on how to cope?

Im a third year associate and I’m frequently asked to give presentations (on new case law, legislation, ect.) during a weekly meeting for my section. There’s a first year associate and a law clerk in my section who are never asked to present. Should I push back on this? Would it look bad if I delegate some of the work to the others? I spend a lot of non billable time prepping for these presentations...it seems unfair that I’m the only one who has to do them.
