I work in production company developing system for them, working alone on the project for few years now. is experience like this compared to more conventional software development employers is a negative or less worthy in eyes of conventional software development employers? would it be better to take a paycut and change employer to conventional one?

I interviewed for an employed role and knocked my business plan pitch out the park, but could tell I disappointed them with my technical. By my own admission I’m lacking in this area as only have 1.5 years experience with a poor manager who only had me focus on biz dev.

I interviewed with a company last week and the interviewer said he would submit my notes to the hiring manager and I would hear back this Monday from HR on next steps/if they want to move forward. I didn’t hear back yesterday so I emailed HR and she said she wasn’t part of the hiring decision so would reach out to the initial interviewer for his feedback.
