Another late night weekend work rant: Given the uptick in hours due to both turnover and M&A volume how have different firms actually responded other than just acknowledging there is a problem (spot bonuses, promise of higher year-end bonus, interim salary raises, more hiring, etc.). Curious to see. Feel like my firm (MM) is trying to hire more people but we’re losing good people just as fast as we replace them with inexperienced ones. And compensation has in no way made up for the hours.

So I have been going through multiple rounds of interviews - I’m 4 weeks into the process and I have already gotten 4 rejections. Here’s what I have learnt (sharing in case it’s helpful) ..

Is it worth taking a demotion in terms of role (manager to business analyst) to jump over to McK from another consulting firm? Also would be curious about salary for an experienced BA with ~4 years work exp

I received an email today from recruiter asking for a phone interview which I’m so happy to hear from but I applied about a month ago. I moved on and applied internally for a different role as a transfer. This new role is a promotion and my start date is next week. I immediately responded back to the recruiter and agreed to the phone interview for tomorrow 5/4…. Do I mention any of the above to them? Do I tell them I just accepted a new role and different position? Please advise

I’m a young female attorney and I wish I wasn’t so sensitive. Being in law has shown me that I need to have thicker skin. Anytime a partner or senior associate talks to me with a stern tone i always feel like I want to cry. Also I’ve been told I’m not aggressive enough with opposing counsel. I honestly don’t know what’s wrong with me and I feel like being a litigator isn’t my thing. Any tips on how to cope with these feelings or how to seem aggressive without being rude?

Just started in-house and my days are full of meetings with little time in between to analyze or process anything. Is this typical? I keep taking lots of notes but haven’t had a chance to really review and reflect on my notes, to follow up and investigate or do any strategic or legal analysis. Lots of on the fly work for now. Maybe it’s like this just the first few days where I’m getting the lay of the land? But I suspect it’ll be like this for a while… Any tips appreciated.

Hello Fishes, I have total 6years 7months of experience, full tenure in Infosys. I got my Technology Lead role change last week. My current package after my promotion stands 8.7 of which around 1.2 is variable. Recently I got an offer from TCS with 12.5 lpa. But the position they are offering is IT Analyst. Since I got my role change to TL already, will joining TCS in IT Analyst be a step down in my career? Suggestions please.

My team just hired a new L&D specialist. During the interview, we realized she was slightly more junior than we were looking for (didn't have much program creation experience), but felt she could grow into the role. Well fast-forward 6 weeks and she's told me that, although she has extensive facilitation, she hasn't done a lot of content creation, which is in contrast to how she represented herself in the interview. I've helped guide and review her work, but am quietly frustrated. Advice?

She let me know when I asked about the interview process that she still had additional interviews to get through this week but they are looking to fill position within 30 days. This was last Wednesday. Avoid the urge of following up again and wait until the 14 day mark to give time for additional interviews? 🫠 (for a dream in house counsel position)

I don't know what should I do as I think I am underpaid for the role with 5YOE CCTC 7LPA in Automation Testing, but at same time I am feared and think of Job security, I am ready to take risk but the above situations + loans to repay just pulls me back.. Please suggest what can I do to tackle this..
