If anyone is interested Elon and DOGE had a very good interview with Bret Baier earlier this evening. It debunked quite a bit about media spin and was quite informative.

Yeah… "debunked". By claiming that there was nothing about future attack times, locations and weapon deployments that was classified information, that there was no issues about using a commercial app that stored data on AWS servers for such conversations, and by blaming the journalist for being included on the chat. And on top of that, after verifying the everything that was reported was true, calling it all "fake news"?

Granted its their job to put a favourable spin on an impossible situation, but wouldn't it be better just to say "Sorry, it won't happen again"?

I'm wondering who's scared to death that Musk and his minions extracted data every American citizen to their private servers they brought in and hooked up to government servers. Every US citizen should be extremely concerned and hopefully the majority of reporting their concerns to the appropriate elected officials..

Lifelong Democrat here. I'll read it, because I am a critical thinker, and as Michael Shermer said, "Investigate, don't debunk." Having some insider information myself, I do agree there is some histrionics in the media.

like

Replying to Ford Motor Company1 - Yes, it's histrionics. "More abysmal release" from the media is just that. I am a former federal employee who left last year. I'm also a freelance journalist, and I know the games played. Take my word for it - whenever anything sounds too bad to be true, it is.

Trashman interviewing garbage.

like

OK, I watched it!
1. IT systems not talking to each other and lists not being cross-checked - oh yes, I can see that. Systems needing updating and it being put off - I did deal with that.
2. Purchasing cards - we've had the opposite problem (people not wanting to do the paperwork to get one). I can see this problem, too, though.
3. Most importantly they made a lot of falsifiable claims about the American people seeing positive results. Musk said, "I'm on record." I have been paying a lot of attention to the cuts, and I'm holding them to it!
If that doesn't happen, they deserve whatever they get.

like

It will take time to see the improvements for sure. I have worked in the government for years different agencies the waste and malfeasance is colossal. Accountability and cuts have to happen. It’s disheartening that it’s been allowed to get out of control, The mountain in PA is unfathomable.

Elon is a prolific liar.

like

Well said! Unfortunately the very people who are rooting out waste and misappropriation are prolific liars… this is the biggest money grab ever, and we are all losing because of it.

I will just be glad when the fake outrage of Elon Musk dwindles and the fact that so many billions have been wasted and President Trump has been the only leader in the last how many decades to even root it out. That’s what’s mind blowing 🤯 the outrage is misplaced. Instead of placing blame where it belongs with leadership in these agencies that were doing more than nefarious things with our U.S. tax dollars being, folks are upset about who’s exposing the corruption. When you hear some of the representatives on the hill talk about it, they almost act as if it’s their money. They work for us and I think that’s what a lot people have forgotten. The financial bleeding should have been stopped decades ago but everyone was enjoying the ride while US jobs and wealth went overseas.

Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

Working Moms/Dads: Do in-house positions exist with flex time hours? I need to be able to leave work at 4pm to pick up my son from daycare, but i can get back online at home to resume any unfinished work at 8pm. Is this realistic to convey to any companies in an interview? Pandemic aside, is face time 9-7pm really important? Or should i just try to find a job with a salary that covers a nanny salary and accept that i will never see my son on weekdays (which would be sad for both of us)? TIA!
