As things start to open up fully, some of my institutional clients are sending notices that we are expected to do X activity over zoom from here on out (things we used to do in person). Clearly it’s a cost cutting measure. Anyone else feel like filing for telephonic appearance so the insurance company can save a buck isn’t going to sit well with judges who prefer in person attendance? The long: One technique I’ve found to stay focused is “body doubling,” i.e., having another person present while you’re working. I’ve had some success replicating this over Zoom/Google Meet. Everyone works on their own thing and stays muted during work blocks, but videos stay on. It reminds me of studying in the library vs at home
