I always make sure to carry over PTO from the prior year for snow/bad weather days.
You may want to consider becoming a word processor/document specialist. A lot of big law firms allow us to work remotely full-time even if they are posting on Linked-In or their websites that it’s not remote or hybrid (many only do this because they do prefer for you to be close enough to get to the office if need be). I was a secretary and now a doc specialist — I work from home full-time.

I had no in person interaction with any of my people. One called from home via teams and I thought she was in and asked if I should come by to talk in person - she said “ oh I am not in the office, didn’t you see the weather outside today.” I’m like, yeah I saw it and commuted two hours in it to look at empty ass lawyer offices all day. Brah!
Core in office Tues-Thurs, wfh Mon & Fri, plus one Monday or Friday in office so there’s always staff on each floor.
2 wfh days only and at least 1 assistant on each floor on Monday and Friday
My company only allows us to WFH 2 days and in office 3 days. We are unable to select Monday & Friday as WFH days but can alternate our WFH days with proper notice when needed. Attorneys are also set to the standard of 2 days WFH and 3 days in office, however, there is more leniency for them of course.
Lol, it’s literally a control thing. I work in house counsel and what pisses me off is that some Claim Handlers have the option to WFH completely remote but we don’t. It’s ridiculous.
That’s pretty much everywhere. Admins always have to come. Majority of the attorneys in our office still work remote.
Most attorneys work from home & come to office once a week, although there are a couple of attorneys that come to office every day. Support staff & OA are in the office daily.
WFH for the whole firm now is 3 days in 2 WFH. Department I work for NEVER gets more than 1 WFH day. Department head frowns on it, which is ridiculous. I feel fortunate that I get 1 WFH day but I pretty much insist on it unless something is absolutely on fire. If the weather is bad, just no. I've gotten stuck multiple times because I could not get home. I make sure I take laptop home and WFH in those instances. Attorneys generally at this firm do WFH 2/3 days per week.
