If you could get access to any dataset in the world, what would it be? I’d love to dig into Spotify streaming trends, just to see what songs spike at weird times or what the ‘most skipped’ tracks are. Or maybe something like Google search trends in real time. What’s your dream dataset to analyze?

TikTok, perhaps. I’m particularly interested in the globaltok and worldtok content trends right now, amidst some others.

The hashtags, content skip rate, impressions, user base, user location (if opted in), etc.

I'd love to have access to newspaper readership stats around the country, and also in a few other countries. I think one of the greatest changes in American society over the past few decades has been the decline in newspaper readership. It used to be that everyone read a newspaper, now it's just a small segment of society. And the ignorance of the population is shocking. Anyway, it would be interesting to see how many people are reading newspapers, and what stories they are reading. I don't know that it would solve the problem of ignorance and disinformation, but it would be interesting nonetheless.

3L with mostly A’s and B’s. I am having the worst luck trying to find work for after school and my experience working with lawyers has left me completely dejected. I cannot get an interview to save my life. I was so excited to get an externship summer after 2L with a small business and IP firm only to get yelled at on the phone a few times for not doing an assignment correctly. Mind you, I was working FOR FREE as it was a school connected externship. That made me never want to work in the law.

Could someone help me break down the differences between a Data Analyst vs Data Scientist vs Product Manager? And add any pros/cons from personal experience? In my mind they’re all related, but I don’t have experience working with any of these roles.

I’ve got about 20 years cross channel experience in marketing, split between big brands and startups, and I’m considering pivoting into a data science/data analyst role. I know it will initially be a step back in comp but is it at all realistic for a person with certificate level experience in data analysis but a decent marketing management background to expect $150-200k comp or is that mostly for degreed candidates (or not realistic at all)? Any guidance here is greatly appreciated.

Senior to Manager-level Data Scientists, what is the minimum set of skills and experience you require someone to have in order to train them to be a Data Scientist?

I have a handful of people from BI and Marketing who want to learn how to be a "Data Scientist" where some of them have stronger SQL knowledge and ability than others, but some of them have more exposure to languages like Python and R, and a little bit of machine learning exposure.

Appreciate the input in advance.
