If you could get students to really pay attention. I mean sit up and participate and actually care for one full day or class period, and they would remember and comprehend exactly what you taught them... What would you teach? Something fundamental that they can use again and again? Or would you sneak in a more difficult lesson in the hopes it'd spark their curiosity? I teach middle (7th) but any level is fine.

Division, Division, Division, Division, DIVISION. Easily my biggest hurdle every year (3rd grade). I actually had an older more experienced teacher come in a few years ago (pre-covid) to watch lessons and make sure they were student-friendly and cohesive. No matter what it's easily what we spend the most "catch-up" time on every year.

7th grade as well, probably integer operations

Observed a great teacher at my school for a whole week. She "taught" history. What she really did was tell a story, and without the students knowing it, she "taught" them history through the story. Went to a math conference, one of the speakers showed a picture of a woman at an ATM, who was getting robbed. She punched in her ATM code backwards which gives you money but alerts the cops. Dude was caught one block away. Speaker said, the story was fake. BUT out of all the conference speakers you see, and inspite of all they, and myself will tell you, THIS is the one thing you all will remember. Make your lessons/classroom memorable.

Does anyone have faith in polkadot? I bought because it had good staking APY and i like most of what i read about them, plus Gavin wood is legit.

Didn’t occur to me until later that it was idiotic to buy at $33 when it started at $2 not very long ago. I sat in losses from 2017 buys until this year so you’d think I’d have learned my lesson lol. That said, i think this project is solid? Worth holding until 2025 if need be?

I teach 3rd grade Math. I am looking for ideas for math centers, that focus on fact fluency.

I finally was able to convince my principal that we need a consistent math intervention at the MS level (grades 5-8). (Right now, we are just "doing our own thing," which isn't helping students progress much.) Does anyone have any suggestions? It would be beneficial to have some sort of progress monitoring tool as part of the program, if possible. Our classes run roughly 55 minutes (which is too long for an intervention, in my humble opinion).

Thanks for any advice.

I feel like I’ve spent so much money on Amazon and TPT but it never ends up being what I want. It’s usually too easy. I would be grateful for any ideas, suggestions or actual workbooks names.
