If you DCA into a taxable brokerage account do you do a monthly automatic bank transfer and if so, what is the amount you transfer each month?

I just look to see how much extra cash in checking every other Friday when I get paid. I transfer any excess to my brokerage and buy. So no I don’t do an auto transfer

like

Yes- automatic $400 transfer every other week, so $800/month. But I also contribute $1100/month to my ESPP, which eventually transfers into my taxable brokerage account too.

like

3k/month same day as our pay day so I don’t miss it

like

$2500 every other week

uplifting

$2k per month, one auto transfer

175 weekly and then EOM contributions with left over cash. Max out retirement accounts during normal pay cycle throughout the year. Forces a min 60k savings (front load backdoor Roth IRA at beginning of year) with spouse. Actual annum savings is significantly higher

Makes sense. Thank you!

I was approached on LinkedIn for an early career recruiting role in DFW, TX. I don't have direct experience, but I have the university experience/connections from working in career services. This is the first time I've considered work outside of higher education. I said my salary expectations are minimum $90k and that didn't seem to be an issue. Am I asking too little, too much? How can I know I'm getting the best salary and not just settling at the low end of the range?

I’m really discouraged. My after tax / after 401k contributions etc. take home pay is $6,500 monthly. I have $60,000 in savings / stocks for a down payment but even looking at a $550,000 home, my monthly payment would be about $3,400 from the calculators I’ve been using. Is that too high?

So discouraged that houses where I live are about 50% higher than what they were 2 years ago, and now interest rates are around 5.25% for my credit score. This is like a 1750 sq foot home

And you don't need to be uber wealthy to regain control of your time.

I just heard recently that if you refinance and your house appraises at 20% more than the amount owed, you can remove PMI. Is this correct? Getting a divorce and trying to keep the house but moving from a VA to a traditional loan and would rather not pay PMI if I don’t have to. House was purchased for $460k no money down (VA loan), refinanced at $450k to lower payments $400/month, now have $430k left on the loan... would it have to appraise for $516k?
