Anyone hearing noise about layoffs?
Hi fishes,
Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient

All I can say is WOW. Pretty serious offense, regardless of magnitude. Not sure OP seems remorseful enough or has grasped the magnitude if s/he is asking about "if the firm will forget in a bit". Nuts.
HR makes a check for any prior violations. I've ensured that they are especially diligent as it appears there's someone trying to bluff their way into a rehire. I've reached out to a couple of colleagues in non-Partnership firms and alerted them to this. They're following up with their HR.
Someone got fired and now they're trying to falsify their way back in. Speaks to integrity, fidelity and voracity. I don't want someone with a compromised ethical compass in a firm that I'm an owner of. It's that simple.
Ummm. Actually they run analytics on the time things are expensed - if the card is run consistently at noon for "breakfast" they can catch you.
Talented troll
I've heard of several people getting laid off at D due to expense violations recently... tell us what you did 😟
Same at KPMG except they were fraudulent and had to go. I’m thinking OP did some fraud as he/she is keeping it as vague as possible.
D6, tell us about the others!
Heard it was for expensing Thursday night meals outside of the airport, Starbucks reloads, etc. didn't get a lot of detail into the magnitude though
We can't expense Starbucks reloads? What if it's just $5-10 at a time?
I know someone very senior whogot fired for expensing a team strip club event
What's that smell? BS?
... and I've just requested our HR to provide evidence of this check being made.
.... and I've let colleagues in non-LLP firms know too. Similar sentiment to myself.

Brian, is that you?
I wish.
No and I asked around after I heard then and it's definitely against policy.
@D6 jeez, very good to know definitely stopping now. Wish they would have announced something like that, so many people do it and I don't think we do it on purpose.
I too have been expensing pick up expenses from airport. It is always less than Uber
You're getting repaid for paying them to pick you up. I would have to pay someone to pick me up so why not pay someone who's cheaper than Uber/cab? I personally wouldn't get up early to drive my roommate to the airport every week just for fun if they could Uber anyway so I figured paying them would be like the same thing
The money isn't loaded until in line actually buying something and knowing the total, at least in my case. I've seen others load it for the week which I disagree with. There are Ms/SMs doing this stuff which makes others think it's okay/normal.
@E3 director is running the firm so that's what counts!
D14: it doesn't matter what you are doing. It matters what it looks like. How do you not understand the optics of how it looks when a charge comes through for a gift card as opposed to coffee and a croissant?
And why would you get a gift card for your coffee and croissant rather than just paying for it? That makes no sense.
What the fuck happened???
