If you could start a bit later, after your vacation, I'd try to do that. But, that's not always possible and if you've already booked the trip I wouldn't change it. I started my current job a few weeks ago and have 3 long weekends (2 days off each) in the 1st two months, plus had a day off the first week we discussed when my start date was set that I didn't use vacation time for. Not an ideal way to start off but it is what it is and they generally understand you have commitments. It's not like it's a long vacation anyways.

hey guys, im currently on vacation, traveling abroad but client is asking me for urgent stuff to be completed so i will have to work on vacation. i work with confidential customer database that i have to vpn into, to access. In general, if i vpn to access customer data, will logging in from foreign country trigger any flags/issues i should be aware of?
