Cool story brah
From Delta: "Three medical professionals identified themselves on the flight in question. Only one was able to produce documentation of medical training and that is the doctor who was asked to assist the customer onboard. In addition, paramedics met the flight to assist the customer further."
Doesn't have documentation but cries racism anyways 🙄
Im with K1... im so sick of people jumping with the racist card 💳
Nice try United.
I wonder - what's an airline's liability if they permit one passenger to treat another passenger and something goes wrong?
This wouldn't make me boycott an airline. What would that accomplish? Delta would never notice.
Same here. Disgusting
I like to have an impact when I do things. I actually never donate small amounts of money. I only donate large amounts of money.
Lol that awk moment when I'm not a registered Republican nor did I vote for Trump. Their new policy is that they won't require people to present identification, which is the dumbest and most dangerous policy ever. Sad to see Delta bend to the will of PC culture versus the safety of their passengers.
That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard A2. Don't vote either. And never donate small amounts of money either. And obviously never boycott anything.
This was unconscious bias by the FA. I would classify this as light sexism/racism at worst. If I had my credentials challenged, I would have either presented them or backed off. This makes a good story but there are much more important issues today in our society.
At the time the statement p2 quotes was made, it was the FA's word against the ignored doctor's. Obviously the FA would claim they followed policy. The doctor claimed the FA actually said "oh no sweetie we are looking for actual doctors, not nurses" and didn't give her a chance to produce documentation before she said here's an actually doctor to the white guy who stood up and also did not produce documentation. Delta then proceeded to investigate further and found the slighted doctor's story to be the truthful one. They've since changed their policy to be better about such issues.
If what DD1 says is the accurate story, sounds less like racism and more like sexism
Yeah probably both
I donate so bigly everyone says I am the best donator
Pwc2 and D3 are obvious Trump supporters.
DD has the story correct.
No need to bring politics and finger pointing and trump into this conversation. I disagree that delta's adjustment of policy is dangerous. It may seem counterintuitive at first to remove the policy to require ID, but it is completely logical if you think about it. If someone were having a medical emergency in a grocery store, you would call 911 and in the meantime if there were an off duty medical professional on site, you'd be thankful they could tend to the person at least little bit until the ambulance arrived. No one would think to ID that person. Also, if they're off duty they may not be carrying their license around (I certainly don't carry my work badge when I'm not going to or from work). The requirement for delta to ID doctors was clearly just a CYA measure, and unfortunately for them it backfired in a big way since clearly FAs were applying it unconsciously in a biased manner, asking some people for ID (or assuming they don't have it, in this case) while not asking others for ID. I've been in a few cases on a plane where a doctor has been requested and white men answered the call and did not get ID'd. The old policy was stupid and the adjustment actually makes sense.
