I’m a 1st year, going into my 2nd, attorney and applying for new jobs. The bulk of my work at this ID firm was mainly project based, although I got to work on several cases and have ample experience in motion practice, discovery, etc. With that being said, in my most recent interview the partner said he expects me to move the cases along, without any direct oversight (only to run ideas by him). The bulk of my cases are going to be Personal injury/premises liability etc (CONTINUED BELOW:)

Long story short, this job sounds ideal but I’m concerned I’m not well equipped and know enough to move a case along. He said by a certain point, maybe a month or two, I’ll be handling about 20-25 cases at once. I don’t want to back down just because I think it’ll be hard and busy… but I also don’t want to be stupid and lead the firm on if Im not ready. Any advice?

And it’s honestly incredible experience. My peers at other firms are doing doc review all day.

I would be very concerned at the apparent unwillingness to mentor and help you. Especially considering how young you are. Can you do it? Yes. Will it make you a better lawyer in the long run? Probably. Will it make you into the best lawyer you can be? Absolutely not.

I’d recommend trying to find an actual mentor.

Hello guys, I was wondering if someone could give me some advice to get into Google as a software engineer. I just finished my degree (not the best GPA) but i have roughly 2.5 years of work experience. I randomly got a interview at Google for early career last summer but unfortunately did not get it. Is there anyway to take another chance, even if I put my application I'm not sure if it gets noticed, any advice?
Thanks

All indications point to an offer being imminent but I have concerns with 1) title (junior VP’s in the group have +1/-1 YOE than me, 2) base feels a bit light given I have 9+ YOE (job description says top end is US$160K)…Nervous for a change as current role is very comfy but nothing ever grows in comfort zones. Thoughts?

Why taking so long? 🙃

I was offered software engineer designation on the offer letter but on the workday portal it is application developer. For the companies I am interviewing have marked software engineer as designation. I asked IBM GBS HR about it and they said on the releiveing letter, it will be application developer,So will there be any issue if the designation is different from offer letter. I didn't had any promotion. IBM
