Ask people about their pets and their goals.
What I mean by this is then you can ask how you can help achieve one of their goals, and say why it aligns with one of yours to do so. And talk about pets because that’s neutral.

Ask good questions about their career path thus far (they love to talk about themselves) and say you would love to mirror the same path and ask if they have a role on their accounts that could help with that.

“Agree to chat” with you? I can’t imagine Accenture having a culture (or any firm where one is employed at) where you have to get permission to spark an informal conversation with a senior leader. If anything, you should be encouraged to reach out to leaders to get them to know more about you and learn more about what they do. Nonetheless, I agree with the other person who responded that if you’re staffed on a project already, you should tread lightly seeking out a new project unless you’ve shared your concerns/interest to your resourcing team.

I see what you mean now. I would encourage you to always network (regardless if you’re about to roll off or not) with senior leaders and stay curious about what they have in their pipeline and inform them on what interests you. Two outcomes from this: 1) you increase your brand in the firm (ie, people know who are and what you’re skilled at) and 2) you stay aware on the different projects and needs these MDs have so you can toss Your name in if they’re looking for help. Idk how the process is at Accenture, but at my firm, we have a resourcing team who is supposed to keep track of our expected roll off dates well in advance (weeks to months before) and position us for the next project....otherwise if there’s nothing, we spend time on bench until someone has a need (or you discover it by way of your connections).
Yo you got some rolez bro?
A role doing what? Are you in the bench and looking for an engagement?
Does your practice have a staffing team? I would understand how staffing works before seeking out your own work. I have been with my firm for over 2 years and have good relationships with lots of people. I still go through staffing process just like anyone else though, but I make my general interests known to my performance manager who can pass along the info to staffing
Nice! How did you manage to do that?
Do you guys think video is necessary? It’s a 1on1 call
Ask in advance.
