I've learned nothing the last year, I don't think consulting is the learning opportunity it once was
Its ridiculous...i literally have not learned a thing
Don’t worry- it’s just as mundane in person
Probably worse tbh. At least virtual you can go on mute and turn off video while getting in a game of fifa

I’m still trying to figure out why EY has a job level called staff. can someone break down the tiers for me?
And sorry about that @OP. It sucks to be in a pandemic, but tis life
It threw me off at first too, but then I realized there's Staff titles at other organizations, like Staff Reporter. It's also pretty clean. If you're in Audit, you're a Staff Auditor, then Senior Auditor. If you're in Tax, you're a Staff Accountant, then Senior Accountant. Same with Consulting.
This - staff, senior, manager, senior manager, ppmd

In person is often worse. Why add travel if it will be boring either way? I honestly realize that working in business in general is just mundane.
Traveling on boring projects can be a blast. Had some serious fun working on an easy project for a year and made some of my best friends
Hi colleague! I feel you on this. One possibility is to set up 30-minute networking calls with people you don’t know yet. I’m doing this even at the manager level. Look on Discover or use LinkedIn to find EY people who have anything in common with you (school, volunteer work, current city, former city, professional networks) and set up 30 minutes to pick their brain on their greatest learning at the firm. Maybe it was a project, a group they contribute to, maybe they can help get you on proposals (I learn that way) or maybe they know about corners of EY you don’t know yet. For example, last week I learned we have a mindfulness practice, a program to recruit former Olympic athletes, and a cross-cultural community of practice. Networking randomly like this has helped me make up for the learning gap I am feeling as well. Best to you! Drop your name here if you want me to reach out directly.
