Depression isn’t always sadness. Apathy alone can be depression, since it’s the lack of finding joy or interest in things around you. Has your routine changed at all recently?
Therapy + Medication + Mindfulness + Exercise
Your case is personal so only you can find what works for you. For me it's going for small wins that gain momentum into positive thoughts. Do things without expectation and celebrate when the outcomes are positive. Finding a the right therapist is like dating, keep exploring until you find one that clicks with you.
There is no pill shown more effective than exercise. Try running or similar at least 20 minutes 3X week
Does exercise help with depression? Absolutely. But a statement like that is entirely tone deaf, untrue, and irresponsible. Some people literally need SSRIs or other medications to function. Exercise should be a complement to those, if they help you, not a replacement. It's the equivalent of telling a diabetic to replace insulin with a healthy diet, when both are needed.
Emptiness is more common in depression than feeling sad all the time. It's actually a huge predictor of mental health issues. on a personal note, I found the emptiness to be worse than the sadness. Please take care of yourself.
I am feeling the same and was recommended counseling
it is a form of depression
my primary care recommended one. and am.just going to go with that for.nowm else I just use the reviews and research as an excuse not to go
Agreed about the apathy. Sometimes I thinks it's freeing to not give a shit about work but in the end I realize it just leads to low quality work idk man. Work is so boring for me
So you're ignoring the professional therapist and instead asking people that "fake it till you make it" for a living?
