At my school, we have a history of a behavior attracting too much adult attention. (Thereby reinforcing it) so as a general rule we wait to intervene until the adult working with it "asks". We sometimes do walk by with a thumb up and a questioning face to ask "do you got this?" Without verbally getting involved unless the person shakes their head. That said, nobody should be getting beat in the hallway! What's your crisis response plan say, if you have one? If not, start pushing your button WAY earlier, like before hands start going anywhere.
Hey Venetia, I appreciate you taking the time to share an important issue most of us might find ourselves into. My assumption is that he probably thought you got it under control since you have all the necessary trainings, tricks, proper procedures to defend yourself. A great point to bring up behind close doors.
I guess it depends on procedures you have in place like others have mentioned but I mean in my opinion the admin should have taken 15 seconds to check in with you to make sure everything was okay.
