I'm an EA and yesterday I had to use my Centegix Badge to alert admin that I needed help. My one on one student was having a crisis and all my normal techniques to help calm them down were not helping. My supervisor, which is the principal who oversees SPED, was walking in the hallway when my student was attacking me. He glances in my direction and walks away.

It wasn't until I pushed my button that he came over and helped. Is this a normal reaction from admin? Made me feel very disrespected.

I was fired after I reported a partner for a serious (criminal) ethics violation. The firm covered it up. Are all companies like this in the end? I’ve lost my trust and don’t know how to start over.

Any advice on how to tastefully tell your manager that you no longer want to be a charge nurse anymore? For us being in charge is having full assignment 3p-7p & being responsible for assigning pts , communicating w/ supervisor about various issues, making the assignment for next shift, and a mini report about each pt for the next charge. On the weekends, same responsibilities but 7a-7p. We don't get any additional pay for being in charge and I'm sick of the added responsibility and stress of it.

What are actionable items one should strive for when trying to grow as a designer after landing their first role? I hear a lot about ways to grow to land the first job but very little about how to improve after you know the basics.

After 4 years I want to leave law because of my adhd! I have been to 4 different firms and at each place I feel like I have been “found out”. At every place at least one attorney catches me about my attention to detail. I am so down on myself now. I can’t bring myself to care about small details that I know don’t actually matter. I love my job in special education, the job may bring quite a bit of stress and exhaustion but nothing compares to the stress of the related service team. OT, PT, speech, BCBA, social worker, etc etc is really what’s killing me this year. It is 23 days into the school year and the team members all make different plans and as a result, nothing is being accomplished. And if paraprofessionals follow ie what OT says but not PT, it cause so much unnecessary conflict!

I’ve just found I’m to teach middle school ALE, including one virtual student. Anyone have some helpful hints for me?

Anyone else the last to be informed about ANYTHING at their site? I am only a second year SPED teacher and my eyes are already wide open to the fact that admin and Gen Ed teachers so often fail to inform me about important things regarding the grade levels I teach and other school events. Then I’m left scrambling to inform my students and parents of essential information, and I’m embarrassed! My aides also look at me like why don’t you know this? Aggravating.

High school special class (self-contained) teachers: What do you use for planning? I’ve always been an inclusive teacher, so I followed the plan book of my co-teacher. I can’t even decide if I should go digital or paper-based let alone make a final decision! I’ll be teaching 9-11th grade math and 11th grade science. The 11th grade classes I can very much do whatever I (or the student) want/need…there isn’t a set curriculum
