Interested in pursuing opps at Deloitte S&O and ACN Strategy. 2 yrs Big 4 strategy experience, came in from target undergrad. Do either firms do exp hiring at Consultant level? Appreciate any advice!
Excited and nervous... I just accepted a role to be the first HR in a small multi state company. Any suggestions and advice from someone who has done this before?
Fishes, looking for recommendations on growing business development and sales skills. Finding and growing pipelines, establishing marketing materials, closing sales, and similar for services. I have on the job experience within consulting but never any formal training or education. Entering a new role where I'll need to build organizational capabilities from scratch. Any recommendations on programs, certificates, courses, books, or other similar ideas would be greatly appreciated. TIA!
Is the SM role like a junior partner at B4?
How much better are the exits ops from MBB vs T2. Don’t think I want to do consulting forever. But close to getting offer to lateral. Do I take it and exit in 1-2 years or just exit from T2? Thanks 🐠
Possibly a dumb question from an intern but why do people go into specific software jobs? For example kpmg has oracle, workday, Salesforce, etc. I see this being super dead end unless you plan to work in that software forever and move up that way. I don’t see many exit opps and personally doesn’t seem fun to work on one software everyday. Please let me know if missing something
Second year considering leaving NY biglaw for a few public interest options. Partly for mental health reasons. Making market, and I would potentially leave for a starting position offering around / a bit over $80k. Holding out currently to see what else arises. Fortunately I don’t have much debt, and that’s enough to cover my basic rent/living expenses, but not by much. Has anyone made a jump like that before? How did you manage financially if so? Living in this city ain’t cheap🙃
Anybody here from operations group at Strategy& willing to provide a referral ? I hold a Masters degree and 4 years operations/ manufacturing experience . I am looking for referral for senior associate position (Boston). Thanks
Best practices as one is thinking about moving to a new job. Does anyone have a list of recruiters to reach out to- looking for exit into Tier 1 consulting or corporate strategy/ corporate development roles or functional roles in a small company/ start-up
Can someone tell me more about the data analyst role at Facebook? A lot of folks are been hired from a data Analytics + regulatory Compliance background into Facebook.. is it too technical?
Thoughts on taking a pay cut from 115k base to 90k base to go to a sr biz analyst role thats very 9-5? Im really looking for sustainable wlb above all else, but i live in NYC so high cost of living
Considering leaving MBB to join a FMCG. Corporate consulting role. Would be leaving at Manager level with Mba. What sort of compensation should I be expecting?
Uber vs Google? For ops/bus dev role
Is it easy to get a nonconsulting role in Social Impact, Corporate Social Responsibility, Purpose & People? MSHR and SHRM-SCP with 10+ years of experience in compliance, global mobility, people development, workforce strategy and disability advocacy.
Just got my exit offer, approx. 30% increase in TC to work for a pre-IPO tech company with better WLB and growth opportunity. At D, I feel overworked and underpaid / underleveles. But I am sad to leave my team and will weirdly miss this place. Stockholm syndrome?
Hey ladies!! Happy new year! I am recruiting two fund accountant supervisors to lead a new office for a client of mine based in NY that is opening an office in DFW. This is a chance to put your stamp on something and lead the DFW office. Preferred experience is going to be someone with strong waterfall experience. If you are interested in learning more please schedule a call via calendly.com/gteran.
I worked hard at a small agency and was promoted from AE to AS after only 8 months in the industry. I had to leave and found a contract position as an AS at a large agency. I am finishing my contract and my boss offered me a permanent position, but wants me on as an AE. I am open to the AE position, but they are unwilling to compromise on the AE salary which is a substantial cut from my salary at my former agency and 45% of my contract pay. What do I do? Do I leave if I feel I deserve more?
Anyone go from audit at B4 to a non-audit role at a young, growing company and can offer some advice on finding roles/selling yourself for the position?
My husband told me that he feels parenting our 2 yr old is a burden. He’s actually a great parent and loves our son but hates all the hard work that goes with it (wake ups / getting ready for daycare / sick days / tantrums). Neither of us wants to take a step back in our career to care more time for our son, and we don’t want the other person to either. We’re considering an Au pair, but I’m mourning the fact that we, and especially he, aren’t parents that love parenting. Anyone in the same boat?
Anyone from McKinsey Human Capital -change management folks here? How is your work different from what big 4 do?
If you started working at a company for like a year as a staff level, for example 2019-present, and this is reflected on LinkedIn, do you guys update any promotions to show it as (the date or year of promotion) -present... or just show it as 2019-present? I’ve seen people do the latter more but is that even right?
I got a 2nd job offer after formally accepting another (both start in 2.5 weeks). Job Offer 2 salary is a few grand more than Offer 1(already acceted) AND pays 100% of health/dental/vision premiums, which will save me another few thousand a year. Both jobs are in a city notorious for it's high cost-of-living (my partners job is moving us from the midwest to SF this summer), so several thousand dollars difference *WILL* be noticeable. Is it too late to use Offer 2 to negotiate Offer 1?
Moms, both husband and I are nearing the end of our parental leave. We live in a two bedroom in NYC. We are thinking of hiring a nanny. The plan is that I would work from one room and husband would work from another room. We can move the changing table and pack n play in the living room, and the nanny and the baby can hang in the living room. Does this sound like a good plan?
🐠's need Advise. I am tempted to move to another big 4 for better pay. Considering speaking to PPED regarding my compensation before making a decision. As a senior 2 earning 89K. Is that standard?
Any one know or work for Friedman LLP? Curious about their green card policy. Any requirement? Easier than big 4?
Does Deloitte send people to current address and permanent address for background verification. What if no one is not available in current address when person comes for verification. Will that cause any problem? Asking coz planning a vacation for 2 weeks and worried what if person comes at that time when no one is available
What would you price a 3-minute travel video about a destination with guaranteed 1M views on social media?
Real talk: what's a reasonable amount to spend on an engagement ring with a salary of 90k?
For those who are jumping to another Big4, or know someone who has and are interviewing with all the Big4, who is paying the best right now? I’ve referred friends to PwC, but they are getting outbid by kpmg for similar positions by like $25k a year. Anyone else seeing this?
TFW you're already sick of winter and realize winter hasn't even officially started yet.
I am on H1b visa and so is my wife. My visa stamp is expired, and if I go on H4 Ead and want to visit my country, how does coming back to US works? Need stamping or something with Ead?
Just lateraled and looks like I’ll be taking on a sizeable privacy practice from an associate who left recently. Any benefit to CIPP and CIPM training/certification as a lawyer? In DC if that matters.
I am considering transitioning from being a W2 employee to a independent contractor/1099. What are some important questions I should ask before making a decision? For context, I have been with my litigation firm for just over 3 years and have been barred for 4. I am doing fine, but I dislike the job and would like to reduce my hours (and get rid of some of the non billable work I have to take on). Ideally, I would transition to a job that I love, but I’m not sure what that is yet. Cont. below.
How do salary increases work at Big 4 if you come in an experienced hire? For example if I switch firms as an SA at 130k salary, what can I expect as an increase the next year since I’m not on the normal comp structure?
