Currently looking for my first job in Cybersecurity. I have a 4 year degree in CIS and emphasis in Security, but no Certifications yet. Asking for advise- is it possible to get my first job in this field without having a Cert yet? Or do most companies want a degree and certs right off the bat?

I just had the initial call with HR. I was told that Senior Analysts start at 56k and Business Operations Specialists start at 67k. I was told the next step was Junior Manager but they rarely started anyone at that level. I'm shocked. Is that accurate or are they trying to lower my expectations? Interviewed for a GS-15 (same agency but different office) and totally aced the interview with excellent answers. They know I’m a top performer with senior references. However I noticed there was an internal candidate who has been there for few years and interviewed that’s a veteran. I feel my chances just sank and want to gauge thoughts.

My supervisor gave me 8hours of AWOL because I couldn't show up one day because I was under anxiety. I have gave him letters from psychiatrist,psychologist that I'm passing through this. He didn't care and gave me an AWOL. I want to leave my job because my department is very toxic but I don't want to leave having that on my records.
If I move to another job later on (private or federal) this 8 hours of AWOL will show up?

I work through a contractor, and was hired 2yrs ago to be a Systems Test Engineer II. They decided last minute to make me a Software Content Manager, but kept my title as is since it was supposed to be a 6mo rotation. I’m still an SCM, and am taking on leadership roles in the group. How do I ask for a title change and pay increase to reflect what I actually do? Do I ask my contract house, or my NASA mgmt? Should I ask to make the pay retroactive since I was hired to do one thing, but do another?

I currently work in Private (GA) Aviation & have for some time (about 12 years) I’m currently making the switch to the Department of Aviation and am unsure if I should ditch my current job (in private) and go full force with the DOA & embrace this new opportunity educationally and gather as much experience as I can or keep both jobs even though I’d be working 80hr weeks..
