I’m going to be just short of Diamond status on Delta. Unfortunately limited days left in the year I can travel. What are your best suggestions?

Use your miles to make a quick trip. You get mqd and mqm for using miles as long as it's not a code share flight

like

You need to actually fly on a Delta plane, as opposed to Air France, klm, etc

Don’t worry about it…it’s not special anyway.

like

Are you short on MQMs or MQDs? Either way, take a long trip

like

D2 this might work. Thanks

Usually you can take a flight from east to west and then a red eye back home. Not sure where you are at. I did it at the end of December and hung in the lounges at LAX for 5 hours. You meet some very similar people at the bar! You can also fly direct to Europe and back rather efficiently and affordable depending on the airport.

Email delta and ask for a holiday gift ;)

Has this ever worked? I am going to have them look into a few things for me in the lounge tomorrow

I met the mqms but am short $6K in spend. After calculations, I decided that staying platinum and getting a head start on next year is a better value for money

Yeah I probably am going to do the same. I think I’m to be about $50 MQDs and 1500 MQMs short

Buy miles

Delta cancelled their mqm and mqd buying program this year since they have too many ppl with status.

I just had a colleague ask me my opinion on a few cars since she’s buying her daughter’s first car. Went through a few brands trying to get a sense of where her mind was, and as soon as I mentioned VW she said “oh, they’re owned by Mercedes and we had bad experiences with Mercedes years ago.”

What comically incorrect car things have your coworkers said to you about cars?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
