I'm in a bit of a quandary. I work as an Implementation Analyst, and while I like my job and the people, the pay hasn't been great, and there are no raises. Recently, I interviewed for a new opportunity with a higher salary, and they're likely to offer me the job soon. But, I've seen some bad reviews about the company, like sudden layoffs and overloading employees. I'm torn between the better pay and the uncertain work environment. What’s a fair expectation for my first raise? Publicly traded co with ~2500 employees. I’ve been doing litigation with the company for almost 3 yrs and have only had a 2% cost of living raise so far. Graduated in 2014. Base comp is $127.5k in the Philly area. I see salaries all over the place in this site and it’s hard to tell whether mine is competitive.

Have interviews set up at FAANG co and getting good signals, for a position that was posted widely (all across US) but not remote. Haven’t broached the subject of location yet. Would you (1) early on clearly state that you’re not open to relocation but that you would be open to visiting a big office once or twice a month; (2) not say anything now and wait to get an offer and ask for an exemption; or (3) something else?

Trying to stay under $2k/month

I am expecting an offer from Master Card for Senior Software Engineer position in O Fallon MO. Please let me know what kind of base salary I can expect with 11 yrs experience . I don’t wanna undersell but also trying to avoid being aggressive but quote a decent number which will be achievable. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Is 125k $ base a fair value for or I can pitch higher? They have a 15 to 20 % bonus on top of base pay and a 10% match on 401k which the recruiter keep highlighting.

I’m looking for a new job and have found that small companies send me rejections quickly and the huge companies are the only ones giving me a chance. I thought it would be the other way around. I really just want a new job and I think I’ll have more luck passing the interviews for smaller companies than the big ones. How easy is it to move from an investment bank firm to a tech company?

Once you get into a FAANG company, is it better to stay where you are or move around? I’m a dissatisfied with my current job but I have vesting stocks, work 9-5, and people to know and respect me. I am the sole provider for my family and value quality of life and stability. I have some interview requests from other FAANG companies that I know pay more but I worry about starting over. Anyone switch companies and either regret it or are glad they did?
