I’m in a Coast FIRE corporate job (individual contributor, fully remote). My boss has noticed things such as how good I am at making decks, presenting, getting people to buy in, and he is trying to give me more visibility/opportunities so that I can get promoted. I don’t want any of it. How do I diplomatically say “leave me alone, I don’t want more opportunities because I don’t want to get promoted and have to ever manage a team or budget again” ? The pay increase is not worth the extra work

Trying to open an account on TreasuryDirect to buy i bonds, and I am required to get an authorized certifying officer to sign a form to complete the process to open an account. Anyone know what that is? I went to my bank and asked, they don’t think they can sign it 🧐

Home reno financing question. Have a big project coming up in the $120-150k range. Funding sources are:
- 90k from a heloc around prime
- 10k from a credit card that offers promo checks at 2-3% for 12-18 months
- 375k in a brokerage
- 5-6k per month cash that I can put towards the project, loans, or brokerage

I don't want to stop funding the brokerage because my FIRE plan is less numbers based than "hoard like dragon until it's enough" but maybe I should... How would you optimize?

I wish I wasn’t adaptable. Humans aspire for a greater level of comfort and once achieved, adopt that as their new baseline. Because of this, somebody making $100k cannot simply comfortably revert back to a $50k lifestyle. The slow growth of personal wealth isn’t noticed as ideated. Instead, we are never satisfied.

I'm a young professional finishing my first year of my career. Last month I opened a brokerage account & invested $4000 in the stock market. I'm planning to invest at at least $2000/month every month now with the goal of creating a passive income stream. Do any of you have experience with a dividend growth strategy? How did you get started?

I’m maxing out my 401K, traditional IRA and HSA this year and paying for some house improvements. I have about $750K total investments and very close to $2M net worth, but realize that I am behind on investments if I want to do FIRE. I was focused on paying off huge chunks of my mortgage and managed to whittle it down to $75K left. Would you suggest I go ahead and pay that off this year? Or pause and do a mega back door roth instead? I’m mid 40s. Thanks!

What are some aggressive ways to control your spending? I tried a little but of everything(paying myself first, only debit cards,cash) but seems like i have the urge to spend and i do so. Any tips?

My monthly salary is around $6.4k after-tax. Living in NYC. Do you think it’s reasonable that I pay:
- about $1.5k on rent
- about $500 on utilities and subscriptions
- about $900 on student loan
- about $2k on food and etc.
My saving goals is around $3k so been trying to adjust my monthly spending.

Question about what to do next. I’ve maxed out everything—401k, HSA, IRA, backdoor Roth 401k. My bills are all paid. I’ll probably make about 16,500 more this year to do stuff with (ie money that isn’t going to taxes or insurance or anything). What should I do with it? Crypto? Set it on fire? Get a hair transplant?

Should I move to another firm and take the higher pay (20% more) and do more work I’d enjoy doing and have better growth and long term career potential, while sacrificing my current title (would have to step down from associate to analyst), WLB, and team chemistry?
