I’m in a newly created role that was originally a “consultant” approach with 80+ advisors now morphed into just a planner role where I’m actually doing the plans. I was going to have metrics based on touches and plans reviewed, now my success is 100% tied to revenue as a result of my plan. I’ve been in the role less than a year, 3 month into hearing about the revenue goal and was just on a call with my manager where he brought in HR and told me I was underperforming. How does one tell their boss (owner of the company) that you are burnt out? The sheer volume of work is exhausting and I haven’t taken a true vacation as we are a small company so if something urgent comes to my email I feel like I must respond. I was given an additional title and more responsibilities last year as well but only a 3% raise for it.

Finished my loop for a marketing role 2 weeks ago, and got an email the next day that they wanted to give me an offer. Had my initial call with recruiter to put the offer together. It was lower than I expected, and we ended that call positively as I needed some time to consider, and we agreed to follow up in a few days.
