I recently interviewed for L7 EM at Google and had 4 great interviews and one not so great system design. I submitted external referrals all of which gave great feedback. The recruiter said the next step is team match/interviews and then the HC. Anyone in a similar situation? What was the result? Google

Nah not a red flag. Position could be more challenging. But if you are able to talk to several members of the team you should be able to tell if they are decent people and you would want to work with them or not.
I see this as a huge opportunity because it’s clear that management don’t know the difference between their ass and elbows. I undertook a job like this and ran my job using my own defined success metrics. I quickly became an exceptional employee.
That sounds like a lot of red flags to me. It sounds like everyone is saying the environment is chaotic and unorganized without actually saying it. I would look up reviews online and see what else people are saying about the company.

When multiple interviewers describe the team differently, it usually means the role is still evolving. That can be an opportunity if you enjoy building structure, but it also signals potential ambiguity.
I wouldn't say it's a red flag, necessarily. Different people have different responsibilities and if somebody is new to a position, it makes sense that they are still figuring things out.
Could be a flag saying they dont know what they are doing 🤷🏻♂️

Everyone will have different perceptions and they may be unsure of how honest to be with a potential new employee!
Fast moving and figuring out process are not mutually exclusive. Someone to bring order fits those first two points. Sounds like they are a bit disorganized and looking for someone to come in with good ideas and take charge and push them in the right direction.
If they’re hiring you for a leadership role because the team lacks leadership, then not necessarily a red flag. I’d ask a lot of questions of the lower level team members that would be reporting to you and gauge their capabilities to ensure they can help you succeed.
If you’re being hired into the middle or lower down the chain of command then that’s a huge red flag and I’d be asking why they don’t have a process worked out, why are things moving so fast / changing rather than being locked in and why do they need someone to bring order if that’s supposedly the job of the person above you?
