I recently did a job interview and I made it clear to the HR my expectation salary is 60k a year, non negotiable.
Today I got the job offer and they are offering me 54k. My current company is making me 50k with tons of benefits which is why I am asking for 60k.

I have US and Can. HR designations and about 3 yrs in HR in Canada. I'm currently in a process improvement role in healthcare, but really want to work in HR. I live rurally with literally no open HR roles close by. I may have the opportunity to work in a quality lead role with my current employer, but I plan to move back to the states in the next few years and want to stay marketable. My current position offered me more money. How do I ask the job I just accepted to match?

I found a company I was really excited about working at. I applied for the job and went through 5 rounds of interviews. At the end they said I was OVER qualified and they want me for a different position higher up in the company. I was super excited they then had me go through 5 more rounds, 3/5 people were the same. The interviews mostly went "didn't you get the job, I highly recommend you? I'll just put you down as a 10". After those were done they told me I was UNDER qualified. Can't win!

I'm new to the field. Everyone seems extremely stressed and overworked. Am I seeing the worst of it, or is that the norm?

I've been working at my current job for about a year now and I'm finally beginning to understand how the company works.

It's not easy, though. It's a small company, which means there are only a few of us in each department. There is no dedicated training team, so we all have to learn new things on the fly through trial-and-error or by asking our coworkers for help. The management team seems to be pretty hands off when it comes to project management and project direction, so it's up to us engineers to figure out how we want to spend our time and who we want to work with.
