Hello,
I had my interview with Infosys for .net full stack developer.
It went well and i am hoping for a positive response.
Want to know how much should I expect Or at what pkg should I negotiate with them.
I am thinking of proposing 13-15 LPA negotiable.
4 YOE and 7 LPA currently
.Net full stack

If you have your PMP, was it worth it?

My question (as a seasoned digital PM): Is the PMP worth it? What industry are you in? If you are building airplanes or fan blades, I’d say go for it. If you are in digital, I would go for Scrum certs. That’s my 2 cents. I studied the PMPBOK, read the goddamned thing cover to cover and came to the conclusion the book must have been late and over budget with its ridiculous repetition and nit picking and abandoned my efforts before taking the test. I also find PMs with PMP next to their name are annoying to work with. They lose the forest for the trees but think they are special because of those initials. Personally, if I ever get the PMP, I would not advertise it. I’m in advertising, marketing and ecommerce for reference. Might be different in your space, just sharing my experience. Do what is right for you OP! Good luck.
I will say that I use the PMP high level structure in my thinking (initiation, planning, monitor & control and cutover). I got what I needed just by owning the PMBOK and looking through it. There is that grid of what steps go where. Just print that out and keep it by your desk 😅
I’ve been a PM for ages too, what I’m looking at next is the SAFe Agile method, that is where you can start managing $10M-$50M+ programs—which is where you can demand a bigger salary.
That’s my take! Happy to help!
I would also recommend scrum over PMP. But to answers your original question for any reimbursed but not vested educational/certification costs you can absolutely bring it up during the hiring process.
Keep in mind if they pay you out as a signing bonus vs reimbursement that it will be taxed so you need to ask for the amount plus the taxes to break even.
Thank you!
