P&G is a great company and looks very nice on a resume. Who would pay more?
Ouch that is so tough. 30% is a lot to give up. But for me, wlb is more important. I don't want to work 14 hour days becasue that is less time that I get to spend with my family. It all depends on what is most important to you.
I would not make a decision based on perceived better work life balance - key word being "perceived." WLB can be hard to find in finance, in general. Do not expect to get off the hook there by going with p&g. Second, keep in mind that with those sacrifices come increased salary and benefits, which don't hurt. It's just the reality of this industry. Better to decide now if that's what you want.
Trust your gut in this situation. P&G is a great name to have on a resume but you have to deal and confront what your best opportunity is in the present.
Hey, work life balance is so crucial, especially in our industry. It's essentially non existent so if you get promised that aspect will get better then I'd jump on it.
Have you tried to get promoted/shift internally to have better WLB or pushed to have direct reports (if you already dont have one) to delegate some of the work? 30% drop in this inflationary environment is hard to absorb in my view.
If I were you, I'd cosnider an internal shift as well. If it doesn't work out, then you can switch companies.
