I'm ready to go in house - I'm tired of spending all day in the weeds and want to solve bigger picture, more business-focused problems. Any suggestions besides continuing to network and applying on Linkedin? I do software-focused patent work and have 5-6 years of experience (depending on whether you count my time as a patent agent during 3L). I've had probably fifteen initial interviews over the past year, a few second interviews, but haven't landed that offer yet. Any other tips?

Wish I had advice for you, but since I don’t, I’ll just wish you luck!

Try to get as much rounded experience as you can if you are in a general firm. Licensing/open source, litigation, trade secret, copyright and trademark. This will make you very attractive to in-house if you are well rounded. Get these on your resume. Good Luck!

This process is not that same that I am use to while working as a Recruiter Coordinator. Nevertheless I really want this job and I know that I can and will excel in the role. Yet can someone assist me one on one with one of the pre interview questions, to help me better understand? I greatly appreciate your feedback, time and support.

Hey All,
I finished a third round interview, and HR contacted me that afternoon saying I had positive feedback across the board and they would contact me the next day regarding next steps. It’s been two days and they finally get back to me saying they haven’t been able to sync with the hiring manager but will keep me posted. Honestly I wish they would talk with the hiring manager and then let me know the decision instead of checking in. It’s messing with my emotions.

Additional Posts in Patent Prosecution

In prosecution, if a patent attorney does not try to remove prior art cited by an examiner (eg a 130 affidavit to assert an exception under102(b)(1)(A)), but instead makes arguments to overcome the art, may the attorney made an admission that bars removing the art later in prosecution. Just received such a transfer case, looking for options.

A frustrated colleague asked for help with a difficult prosecution. I agreed to help. I just reviewed up the case and the examiner is combining NINE references. I think that’s a record for me. What’s your record for most number of references combined?

Can anyone comment on how effective this is?
