I would worry if you’d have enough time to do both the job and get your MS. Unless you are a rockstar or fill a very specific need, I would probably try to hire other candidates first.
second P1s concerns. i'd also question the point of the MS, is it for fun (fine, but not relevant to me) or needed (a concern if I'm looking for experience). personally, if you can handle the workload, I wouldn't even mention it and only bring it up when completed (that would probably impress me, "btw I got a masters last week").
What type of STEM? An MS in bio or chem is not going to be the same as an MS in engineering. What’s your background right now?
BS Electrical Engineering, working on an MS in Computer Science (Machine Learning Specialization).
How much experience do you have?
About 10 or so years.
Agree with OC1 — totally depends on the reason for the MS.
Ideally, you’ve been holding down a full time job throughout the MS coursework.
Assuming you can, I would try spin it as you are intellectually curious and are doing the MS to enable you to better advise clients in a particular technology space … that is relevant to the job you are applying for.
Make it clear you are close to being done with the MS, and it wouldn’t affect your ability to work regular hours for the role you are applying for.
