I have my first interview with a big law firm as a post grad. I had some interviews at OCI, but was wondering what to expect as recent grad. Assume it’s more for fit since I have less than a year of work experience?

I agree with the above. It’s mostly about fit and why I was leaving my firm. I also asked a ton of questions, it makes you look really interested in the firm and practice group.

like

That’s how mine was! A lot about fit and also my interest in the practice area. I only interviewed with a few people. However other firms are just like OCI, where you meet with 8 people.

Awesome, appreciate the help!

Anyone have slow months where you burn through a lot of your allotted pro bono/professional development hours to keep hitting minimum daily hours? The past few weeks have been like this for me. Should I be concerned (I.e., will this reflect poorly on me, come review time? Will I have dug myself too much of a hole if I keep burning my non-billable hours?) PSA - We are headed into a self-imposed economic slow down. Now is not the time to lateral but if you do, I would make sure you are at a recession-proof practice or firm. The top law firms will be okay (they always are) but if you are part of a larger group of associates with no work, you are likely to be axed. Latham did it in the 2008 and 2011 and it will happen again. If you are an associate or really anyone but a rainmaker, you are expendable.
