What matters is what you learn in my opinion. If you can get the same skills faster and cheaper at a code camp with a little less hand-holding than you would get at university, I say why not. Plenty of coding boot camps and apprenticeships prepare people and get people jobs in software. Knowing the languages, experience, and skill is the key to getting hired.
I agree! Bootcamps are also as prestigious (Sometimes even more) than a university.
What is important is your portfolio and what you have learned. Both, Bootcamps from a coding academy and a university Bootcamp will help you develop a portfolio.
Big names do look good in a resume. But it really does boil down to skills you aquired from whichever boot camp you've taken.
this is super helpful, thanks so much everyone!
