I’m sooo sick of Marriott from the Bonvoy situation. Anybody have luck transferring to Hilton or Hyatt, getting status match?

Misled on Maternity Leave Policy. I found out I only get 4 weeks pay for maternity leave (STD +“sick days”). I will take 12 weeks but wont get paid for 8 weeks. I work for a US, west coast based company in the tech/VC industry. Their website claims to offer “paid parental leave and other progressive benefits for parents”. I didn’t find out until after I was hired their pay was only 8 weeks but since I have been at the company less than 12 months, I don’t qualify for their policy. Is this unfair?

Planning a one-week summer vacation to Yellowstone Park area. Family unit of 6, so need to rent a single, large SUV. Just looked at prices and the cheapest car available for 6 people with unlimited mileage is $3,500+. Makes the vacation almost not worth it. I honestly struggle with the politics of Afghanistan. It does appear that after 20 years we leave and within months it goes back to very similar or on its way. It’s not the US job to be the world police we did try to build coalitions and fail at the end of the day unless we’re willing to keep troops there forever which most Americans don’t want to I am not sure what the right thing to do is. And I’m sick of criticism just for the sake of the president. I don’t think there’s a perfect solution

I work at a medical device manufacturing plant as a training coordinator, I have a military background and a degree and am trying to advance but am feeling stuck. I am a literal jack of all trades, and am trying to get out of the hourly life, I’m working an average of 100 hour weeks and have been for at least the last 6 months.

Has anyone here had a difficult recovery post-egg retrieval? It’s been 3 days and I’m still in a lot of pain. The medical team said I should expect to be uncomfortable for 5-7 days or more due to the high number of eggs retrieved (=very swollen ovaries) and it will take 2 weeks to get back to normal.
