I think that bringing donuts on your first day would be a really nice gesture. I don't think it will at all be taken as you trying to bribe the team. If I were on the team I would appreciate a gesture like that on someones first day. Plus who doesn't love donuts honestly.

Not that I expect donuts to go over poorly . However, the employee who had the role prior was very well loved and was removed from the position. I don't want to come across like I'm bribing favor. I just remember how those treats felt when I was bedside and think it'd be a good way to introduce myself and assure staff have my contact information.
I think bringing donuts would be appreciated by your team. I will often bring in donuts, I do it once a month or every six weeks. Sometimes I do it more frequently if things are getting particularly stressful at work. Why are you concerned bringing donuts would set a bad tone for your first day? I am just curious.
It’s a very kind, considerate gesture. Not that you’re expecting otherwise, or in anyway unprepared, but leadership is so hellish, SOMEone should bring doughnuts in for you periodically. Congratulations, and all the best. A word of advice- Remember not to let it slowly steal your personal time!
Just a word od advice. Do not say that same old corporate BS that the ceo and other leaders spew out there mouths be honest and tell them the truth . Upper corporate talk all kind of junk get staff believing is some nonsense of how it's all about patient care. In reality it's just about the revenue your team bring in. Good luck
Setting the tone in your relationship with your staff is never a wrong thing. Breaking bread together is a way to level down those protective barriers. You win, when you get more from the meeting than just eating donuts. A solid start. Best of luck to your endeavors.
Showing up with donuts and a note is a great idea! It's a friendly gesture that can help break the ice and make a positive first impression. It shows you’re approachable and thoughtful, setting a welcoming tone for your leadership.
I can see stepping into somebody else’s shoes is always a tough spot to be in. Whatever you decide, hoping it goes over well and I think just showing you will be supportive as a leader and helpful goes a long way. Already sounds like you are very caring of them, and you know how amazing that can feel in this field!
Not at all. Now if you showed up with tequila shots then I’d say that’s a hard no🤣😂🤣
Absolutely! Do it. As a Quality Manager I can tell you that initial impact goes a long way to "greasing the wheels". I think the addition of an information sheet and contact info is also a great way to introduce yourself as long as you keep it about you, your qualifications, leadership style, and career passions. Congratulations!
