USC is about $50k more expensive than Antioch, but it’s also better-known. Is going to USC likely to help my career enough to be worth the higher tuition? Or, can anyone speak to whether the experience at USC is that much better than the experience at Antioch? Both are fully in-person.
COAMFTE accreditation is the most important factor for MFT programs, choose one with the accreditation.
I’m not based in CA, so I’m not sure what that process looks like for you. Learning to be a therapist is a very personal experience, if accreditation doesn’t really matter, there isn’t much difference which program you go to. It’s you learning to be the therapist you want to be, and program can only do so much to support you in the initial process. Maybe see if the program offers classes in your interest area, if faculty’s area of expertise interests you, and ask current students if they feel supported. Ultimately, it’s licensure and your own clinical expertise that really matter in the long run.
