I'm trying to decide if I want to quit audit or stick it out. I'm a second year audit manager who has been put in some tough situations either due to employee turnover. I used to like this job a lot but things have become too much lately because we don't have enough staff. Some advice I've gotten is that I should stick it out and keep learning before I even think of making a move. But I feel like I'm underpaid and I don't know if I would be promoted to SM until 2025. I could use some advice.

Manager is still a good time to exit. Once you get SM+ the opportunities that meet your salary requirements are fewer

like

Yeah, it’s better to start a search earlier. That way you have more freedom to pick and choose which jobs to interview for. People make bad decisions when they are desperate to leave

like

If the advice you received was from another audit person at the firm, it’s likely they are just blowing smoke. You’re definitely underpaid compared to what you can find at consulting firms.

like

Most likely just trying to keep you around. Consulting is the growing side of things. You can go into Accounting and Reporting Advisory and still put your accounting knowledge to good use. Plus side is not having to deal with being underpaid and all the independence bullshit.

How much are you paid?

like

Yeah seems low to me.

Manager is the classic exit rank. The opportunities aren't going to get that much juicier the longer you wait.

I just got a job offer for an Entry Level Software Engineer at Boeing in Saint Louis. The salary is $82,000 with an $8,000 sign on bonus. I was hoping for an offer closer to 90k base and I don’t care too much for a sign on bonus. However, this is a lot more than what I’m making now, and would be my first SWE job. Should I counter? If so, how would I go about doing that? Thanks!

Hi all
I started out as a graphic designer. Worked for about 4yrs in different roles. Then i started a digital design role for 2 yrs and then made my transition into ux. i have been in a ux role for 5 years. But i want to steer my career towards something more creative. Would love something that allows me to do both?
