Anyone have experience working CWX side of Facebook (Meta) ? These are the full time contract roles that potentially turn into permanent roles directly with Facebook (Meta). Had a recruiter reach out and offering me comparable TC and such, just curious if anyone has experience in these roles and success/failure of transitioning into permanent role. Thanks in advance!

Probably. Why? Not their fault I guess.
No, take the 100% pay reduction instead.
Of course. Don't hate the player, hate the game. You also might consider talking with your manager about a raise to get you in line with the market if you're being underpaid.
Right. "You, manager, brought on someone for 30% more than I am being paid. I have demonstrated the ability to perform at at least the same level by training this person in their role. What steps do I need to take to be compensated at this level?"
This person is new. I would expect them to need a lot of help at first even if they're a rock star. They may have experience and credentials that you aren't aware of that justify that 30%. They might not, and it's just new-hire vs. retention budget. You won't know unless you ask what you need to do to reach that level of compensation.
Maybe this person would help a new hire get up to speed without being petty and that's worth the 30%.
Absolutely will help. Why? It’s free to be kind. Never know how that kindness will come back to you.
What are you going to do, say no and slow the org down? "Blocked because Software Engineering Manager wouldn't help the new guy" is a great story to have attached to your name when you get called into the principal's office.
OP, "Software Engineering Manager" is referencing you. That's what you chose to post as. Replace that with your name when you read it.
Request to be paid for your time.
You are the one that needs help. As in help to find a higher paying job.
Of course. I'm not going to be rude to someone and make their life harder because I'm feeling bitter. However, I would be spending a lot of my free time job hunting so that I can get myself a 30% pay increase by working elsewhere.
This might seem petty, but when this happens, especially in a peer relationship, I am inclined to let the person squirm and figure it out on their own.
I would definitely help and be a team player, however I would be actively looking for a job at that point. It's a tough job market, but it's starting to warm up.
Nope.
