How much yearly hike can one expect at Société Générale ?
"Depends on performance" seems to be a very vague answer.
Can someone please elaborate on a better answer.
Also, Can someone shed some light on promotions?
Is there any policy, like you have to work for X years to be eligible for promotion etc.
Thanks in advance.

Any one familiar with comp for a Portfolio Associate roll at PIMCO on their mortgage backed securities team? I’m looking at an offer and want make sure I’m in line with the average comp for the company and industry. Only 4 months of experience and offer is 98k w/ 10-20% bonus plus 15k relo/ sign on. Looking at Glassdoor, bonuses seem higher than quoted by the hiring manager. (No written offer yet they say they’re still working on it)

If everyone is on the same page, there is no shame in it. Everyone should be around their respective bands +/- some percentages. Everyone knows what generally each rank (staff/senior/mgr) makes so its not like someone is going to blow someone's mind. Nothing wrong in my books. I don't want around saying how much I make but I also don't have any qualms whatsoever talking candidly about salaries with people.
Yeah you all work at the same company so there's inherently a decent amount of transparency already there. No stress
I put my salary in my email sig so people know what they’re getting with me
It can create a lot of unnecessary drama and jealousy. That's the main reason I avoid doing it. You never know how people are going to react.
Walk it back? If they felt bad when you brought it up the first time, they'd feel bad again. Just brush it off. You meant no ill will and I'm sure they knew it too. Don't worry about it
It’s not bad, actually it’s good for employees to share salary openly. Of course companies don’t like it. The downside is when you get that one person who is clearly compensated less for a reason gets unhappy because they want more money despite not having the same skill or qualifications. The other is when you get someone who is an idiot yet make more because of YOE, but stopped trying or hasn’t learn anything new.
In general, I just be mindful of who I share it with. If I trust them and if I know how they will react. I know quite a few co workers salary, but I also equally open about mine. Some of which have more qualifications or less than I do and their pay reflect the same.
Happy to contribute! Unfortunately I always remember those scenarios because semi-dealing with them now :/
i ve never thought sharing salary is bad. If they hear they earn much less than you then they can negotiate for a better salary next time. I dont understant the being jealous part.
