I didn't and moved to another job, I wish I had
You can always successfully open a comp discussion. If your responsibilities are broader than what your job role says that’s why you’re opening the compensation discussion. Now whether that discussion will fruit more dollars or another title depends.
If you decide to open this, you need to make sure your ducks are all in a row. Have the job roll in question, have the additional duties you’re doing documented. If you’ve already had results document that. Go and research that expanded role. If you can find something that is very similar to it apples to apples. Then have a number in mind or something else more PTO performance bonus a spot bonus.
Opening a discussion is usually no problem, but it will close down very quickly if you are not prepared.
I personally have never been in that position, but I think it's very reasonable to have a conversation about your salary if the additional responsibilities mean you are no longer being paid a fair market value.
Look at the job description/ competencies/ expectations for the next level up. Use that as a blueprint for your case. Build a strong case and present it to your leader. It should help you get a promotion/raise.

No I have not tried. But you definitely should!
My direct reply is... Yeah, but the impacts were never immediate. I think there's a shift away fake to make and is becoming learn it to earn it. Leaning in always gets noticed, especially if results are quality.
