There is no one good system.
A democracy runs on values and norms and under the assumption that all act in good faith.
There are pros and cons. Obviously that system is attractive rn given what’s happening. But the downside is you create a large group of unelected bureaucrats who wield large amounts of power. If they start acting improperly, it’s hard to effect change.
But the US has a lot more checks and balances built in already. In the UK for instance, there’s no separation between the House, The Senate and the Presidency. There’s just Parliament and if you control it, you control the equivalent of all 3.
So I’m not sure the US needs more checks and balances. It needs the ones it has to work better.
What country are you in?
The United States is not a true democracy, we are a democratic republic, which is the worst form of government aside from the rest

There are no true democracies in the world. All democracies are either presidential republics or parliamentary republics.
I think the nation that the republic is divorced from the democracy is flawed.
That’s how it works in the US. The only people that can be fired at will are those who serve at the pleasure/will of the President. Civil servants have a much much longer process to be fired
