It's always been a dream of mine to work at Google, specifically as a UX designer (currently transitioning into UX from visual design). I've been so afraid to apply to any jobs with UX title, Google or not, because I'm always doubting myself and telling myself I'm still under-qualified.
UX designers & hiring managers, what are the skills a designer must have to be "qualified" for a UX position? Keywords on resume? Certifications? Thank you all in advance!

As I’m trying to hire UX designers, its an influx of Product Designers.
I view it as a spectrum from Experience strategy/ research through classic UX to visual design.
As a product designer at my company you would be expected to be able to build a design system & lean more heavily into the visual side.
You 💯 aren’t entry level by any stretch of the imagination! Make sure your portolfio shows how you’ve built design system & can flex into the visual space & you’ll be golden.
Product design does deal with more of the strategy and helping to drive the direction of the product. As someone who hires, I would not hire a product designer that didn't have a UX/UI background before transitioning into product design. And I would expect that product designer would be at a higher payscale than a UX designer as they are driving that strategy.
It depends on the company. Speaking broadly about the market, it’s very similar and there’s no way you would be considered entry level with 7 YOE.
