They are pretty open about things like this. Let them know in a email. They are concerned about their image enough not to back out
Are you waiting for the offer or have they issued it already? Also assuming you have not told them anything about this as of yet?
There's two sides to this. Even though it should not matter especially when it comes to family leave, unfortunately when it come to project based work, not being able to commit to X amount of months expecially early on in the project could be a deciding factor whether they offer or not. The other side, is that without knowing your plan, they cannot effectively plan with their customer. Meaning they could promise the customer whose project you will be assigned to ahead of time that you will join, and then have to give them a surprise when they learn you will not be available. The one helpful part is, unless they have told you directly, they may not be hiring you for a specific project and and would be waiting until you are fully onboarded to do so. That way, although an almost immeidate leave would be a surprise, they wouldn't have to manage the change with the customer.
